| Job Description | The Staff Therapist II is an 11-month full-time position that provides mental health and wellness services for the student population. Specifically, this position is responsible for the provision of short-term individual therapy, group therapy, crisis intervention, drop-in services, consultation, supervision of graduate student trainees, outreach programming, and participation in the Center’s on-call rotation. As part of the Barnes Center, counseling is an integrated service and staff take a holistic approach to supporting students and are expected to be active members of the university community, represent counseling services on a variety of committees, and collaborate with colleagues across the university to promote student well-being. This position must demonstrate high levels of cultural competency, be well versed at working with students from a variety of traditionally underserved and/or underrepresented backgrounds, and demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, social justice work. As a licensed provider Staff Therapist II are able to sign their own progress notes and practice independently without weekly supervision towards licensure. Staff Therapist II also have the opportunity to serve our Training program including the supervision of our Intern/trainees. |
