| Job Description | The Philosophy Department in the College of Arts & Sciences at Syracuse University seeks a part-time instructor of Philosophy to teach the main lecture of PHI 293, Ethics & the Media Professions, a 3-credit course during Fall 2025 semester. The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined based on their per-credit-rate-history within the hiring department. All positions and offers are subject to funding availability and enrollment. Course Description: Great traditions in ethical theory; application to television, film, new media. Role of ethics in program and content development; and in business practices. Ethical issues arising from social networking, globalization, and new trends in the media. |

| Responsibilities | The duties associated with the teaching assignment include: • Developing and/or updating a class syllabus. • Preparation of lectures. • Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours. • Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course. • Submitting completed final grades according to University regulations. • Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner. • Providing department forms for student evaluations. • Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty. |
