Job Description
The Recruiting Assistant is responsible for supporting the football staff in various ways. This individual will assist the recruiting staff with prospective student-athlete visits. This individual will provide support in the planning of all official and unofficial visits. This individual will provide support with on campus tours and academic meetings. This individual will support the coaching staff with their off campus recruiting trips. This individual will also support the player personnel staff with prospect evaluations. This individual will also complete various other tasks as assigned by the Head Coach.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree and successful experience working in football.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and a commitment to rules compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and project a professional attitude.
  • Commitment to the recruitment of quality student-athletes.
  • Football philosophies must be compatible with those of the Head Coach.
  • Ability to support gender and diversity commitment of the department.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a State of New York driver’s license and must be able to comply with all university requirements pertaining to driving on state business.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an institution of higher education.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet requirements under pressure and willingness to work extended hours.
  • Must possess the ability to meet project deadlines and work under time constraint pressures.
  • Good organizational, communication, leadership, and computer skills.
  • Strong commitment and ability to work well with student-athletes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Catapult, Hudl, Teamworks, and ability to integrate computer information technology systems into all aspects of the department’s affairs is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Support the recruiting staff by assisting in the planning and execution of all on campus recruiting events.
  • Support the recruiting staff by assisting with the communication plans for all recruits and coaches to include social media messages, mailers, etc.
  • Create point of attack cut-up tapes for the recruiting and coaching staff and assist with gathering academic transcripts.
  • Assist with travel planning for coaching staff off campus recruiting trips.
  • Recruiting research projects as assigned.
