Pay Range $1,440 per credit hour

Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months’ salary unless otherwise specified.

Job Description
Marriage and Family Therapy is seeking a part-time instructor to teach MFT 761, SEC M003 and M005: Practicum in Marriage & Family Therapy II in the Summer 2026. Classes run May 11 to August 14, 2026. This course is the second course of four required courses in supervised clinical practice in Couple and Family Therapy for students in the Marriage and Family Therapy program. Sections M003 and M005 are lab sections for supervision of students. Instructor will receive 2 credits pay for this section with a maximum of 5 students assigned to the section. Supervision will take place in accordance with students’ client activities.

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined based on their
per-credit-rate-history within the hiring department.

All course offerings are subject to funding availability and enrollment.
Qualifications
  • MA or PhD, and supervision experience.
  • Must be an LMFT in NYS, Approved Supervisor or Approved Supervisor Candidate.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group systemic/relational clinical supervision for a practicum lab section with a maximum of 5 students.
  • Determine and assess progress toward students’ clinical goals, review and sign supervisees case documentation and tracking logs.
  • Document in writing and share concerns with supervisee. Provide reports of concerns to the MFT department as needed.
  • Complete end of the semester evaluations in collaboration with supervisees and report on progress to the MFT 761.
  • Provide supervision coverage one evening per week in the Couple and Family Therapy Center.
