Pay Range $21.50 - $26.45

Job Description
Reporting directly to lab director Dr. Jay Golden, Director of the Dynamic Sustainability Lab at Syracuse University and the Pontarelli Professor of Environmental Sustainability and Finance this position will work with Dr. Golden in supporting faculty and students working on the USDA Advancing Markets project. The Project Manager will lead internal and external communications. Specifically, the project manager will manage websites, annual reports, published materials, social media platforms, filming, podcasts and email campaigns. Additionally, this person will coordinate annual and regional workshops which will include marketing, venues, catering, AV logistics, registrations, website registration etc. The Project Manager will take the lead in preparing quarterly reports to USDA on lab progress for the project. The successful candidate will also be expected to be part of a team in supporting graphics, imagery, layouts and publishing of general interest and technical reports and articles.

This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU, Local 200United.
Education and Experience
A bachelor of Science degree in Television, Radio, and Film or related field. Preference for those with demonstrated experience in Information Management and Technology or related field and in the external communications of university based research with a specific focus on sustainability.
Skills and Knowledge
Prior production, marketing and communication experience for a research organization. Experience with timelines, budgets and assignments for clients. Understanding of sustainability and biobased products. Experience in environmental policy research. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with demonstrated evidence. Experience with the suite of tools including: Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, Davinci Resolve, Fusion, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Meta Business Suite, Canva, Tableau, MailerLite, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, VSCode
Responsibilities
  • Leads the development and coordination of internal and external communications and marketing which will include reports to clients, annual reports, technical bulletins, social media, videos, podcasts and website as well as incorporating artificial intelligence applications.
  • Supporting student researchers in the development of written reports and social media.
  • Coordinating Workshops, Meetings and Conferences related to the project.
