Job Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic plays a key role in executing assigned Maintenance tasks. This includes setting up, operating, cleaning, and troubleshooting production equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute maintenance tasks assigned by Shift Supervisor using intermediate troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve equipment problems efficiently.
- Complete all required documentation including logbooks, work orders, and parts records to maintain system history, continuous improvement, and inventory management.
- Respond promptly to maintenance calls and ensure all repairs and preventative maintenance meet company quality standards before equipment is returned to service.
- Maintain strict adherence to all safety practices, regulations, and procedures including OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout, confined space protocols, PPE, and housekeeping standards.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements including OSHA, NYSDA, PMO, and FDA standards while supporting SQF readiness and HACCP compliance.
- Communicate regularly with the maintenance shift supervisor regarding safety updates, equipment issues, and continuous improvement initiatives to support operational excellence.
Min. Qualifications
- Minimum of a GED or High School diploma.
- Technical training or electrical/mechanical technician degree.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience within the mechanical field.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers, instruments, and controls.
- Food manufacturing background is a plus.
