Job Overview
The Document Control Specialist plays a key role in executing assigned Quality tasks. This includes issuing, maintaining, controlling, and auditing documentation that is required for Food Safety, Quality, and cGMP compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate aseptic deviation RCA processes, which include coordination between departments, as well as coordinating additional testing.
- Maintain, control, audit, manage and update Document Archives of all documents according to company policy including, but not limited to, receipt of materials/ raw material documents, batching system records, processing system records, packaging system records, HACCP documentation, and any/ all other documentation records.
- Maintains Proficiency in ERP and/or paper filing process flow and application. Must be able to quickly retrieve and understand data/documents to support FDA, USDA, and external and internal audit requests.
- Performs all tasks required during a real or simulated product recall, including ERP functions, paperwork retrieval, and communication with corporate and distribution centers.
- Assist in conducting audits of all quality systems and various training classes that pertain to Quality or documentation requirements on an as-needed basis.
- Assists with the disposition of raw materials and finished products utilizing hold/release processes in the ERP system and provide backup as a point of contact for suppliers on non-conforming materials, corrective action follow-up, ERP blocked stock information and returned material tracking.
- Available to troubleshoot quality issues over the phone on off-hours and come into the plant as needed.
Min. Qualifications
- A minimum of GED or High School Diploma is required.
- Preferred Preventative Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI}
- Preferred Better Process Control School, the individual.
