Job Overview
The PET Production Supervisor plays a key role in executing assigned Production tasks. This includes leading and supporting a safe, efficient, and compliant production shift by directing staff, monitoring quality and equipment performance, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of accountability and engagement on the production floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervises and coordinates activities of assigned production staff, ensuring products adhere to established standards for safety, quality, and throughput.
- Maintains effective working relationships with team members through open communication, floor presence, and involvement to promote a positive working environment that supports safety, engagement, productivity, and throughput.
- Reviews the production schedule prior to the start of shift and adjusts staffing assignments as needed to support production targets.
- Inspects raw materials prior to changeovers to ensure correct inventories for production runs. Performs initial quality checks following changeovers to prevent non‑conforming product.
- Provides day‑to‑day coaching and guidance to team members; supports training, onboarding, and performance feedback. Escalates employee relations issues to management as appropriate.
- Partners with management and Human Resources by supporting corrective action processes, investigations, and staffing needs. May participate in interviews as requested.
- Works closely with Maintenance to report and support resolution of downtime events on assigned production lines.
- Utilizes the Packaging Line Monitoring System (PLMS) and other tools to complete and submit shift reports related to OEE, production, downtime, attendance, overtime, and quality.
- Conducts routine walkthroughs throughout the shift to ensure compliance with safety, quality, production, and 5S standards.
- Communicates with other departments to ensure production priorities and customer deadlines are supported.
- Leads daily shift huddles and participates in scheduled meetings to review production, OEE, and quality performance against targets.
- Conducts routine safety observations and supports weekly safety discussions with assigned team members.
- Supports continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, productivity, and equipment performance by identifying issues and recommending improvements to management.
- Adheres to all company and plant safety programs, policies, and procedures; ensures assigned team members work safely and follow required practices.
- Monitors team member time and attendance for accuracy and submits or reviews information per established procedures using the UltiPro platform.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance; ability to work 12‑hour rotating shifts or schedules dictated by production demand.
- Operates filling, packaging, and cooler equipment as needed to support production and staffing requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
Min. Qualifications
- A minimum of GED or High School Diploma is required.
- 2-3 Years – Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment
- 1-2 Years – Experience managing people / projects.
- Ability to obtain Better Process Control School (BPCS) certificate.
- Mechanical skills relevant to the assigned equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is required.
