The Hotel Supervisor at The Lodge, owned by Turning Stone Enterprises, leads the front desk team to create welcoming and seamless experiences for every guest. This role coordinates staff schedules, supports check-in and check-out operations, ensures smooth communication with Sales and Housekeeping, and helps maximize room occupancy and revenue. With a focus on teamwork, excellent judgment, and a thorough knowledge of property management systems, the Supervisor plays a key role in making every stay exceptional.
What you will do as a Hotel Supervisor:
- Develop fair and consistent schedules for front office receptionists. Matches coverage to expected business volume.
- Ensure front office receptionists have complete and up to date knowledge of company and departmental policies and procedures, as well as latest information on promotions, etc.
- Monitor clerks and flow of guests during check-in and check-out process.
- Maintain sufficient supply of front desk materials and supplies.
- Ensure computer systems in working order.
- Interact with guests effectively, answering questions, solving problems, and assisting with check in and check out.
- Review daily reports – expected arrivals, non-zero balance, over credit limit, etc. Clears any discrepancies.
- Input Group room blocks and rooming lists and follows through with Sales Department on any concerns.
- Prepare Hotel and Group Sales groups and group information prior to group arrival (ex: Pre-blocking rooms, assembling key packets, checking for proper billing, etc ).
- Ensure Housekeeping receives rooming lists for VIP’s, Entertainment and bus groups.
- Ensure maximum daily room occupancy and revenue- clears up due outs and discrepancies, out of order rooms, duplicate reservations. Ensures all reservations are guaranteed for arrival. Ensures clerks are selling to achieve 100% occupancy.
- Ensure clerks banks and main bank are balanced on a daily basis. Documentation of any variances.
- Read and update the supervisor logbooks on a daily basis.
- Consistently demonstrates excellent decision making skills and judgment.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of property management system.
- Exhibit proper yield management on a consistent basis.

Work Experience
To be successful as a Hotel Supervisor, you'll need:
- A 2-year college degree preferred.
- Experience in a leadership role.
- 2 years Hotel front desk experience required.
- Ability to type at least 40 wpm.
- Computer experience.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- A valid NYS Drivers license.
- The ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 31-40 pounds.
